More About Zermatt
With a skyline defined by the breathtaking Matterhorn, Zermatt is widely recognised as one of the most picturesque ski resorts in the Alps. The village has retained its traditional character and charm: cobbled streets, weathered timber and classic Alpine architecture give it a warmth few resorts can match.
Skiing here reaches altitudes exceeding 3,800m across some 360km of connected pistes. Modern lifts, including the Matterhorn Glacier Ride, provide swift access to runs suited to every age and ability. Restaurants and mountain bars are scattered across the slopes, offering the perfect place to refuel and take in the views.
During the summer months, Zermatt transforms, offering an array of sports and activities. Melting snow reveals lush green meadows and more than 400km of marked hiking trails leading to mountains, lakes and glaciers. Skiing continues year-round, too, served by six lifts and 21km of pistes on the glacier (the largest summer ski area in the Alps).
